Bossier City officials want to assure you that there are no deadly brain-eating amoeba in the water distribution system.

The burn out began on Feb. 21 and was conducted in response to an order issued by the Department of Health and Hospitals as a way to ensure that there are no issues in municipal water systems with Naegleria fowleri.

Bossier City is now resuming its normal water disinfecting procedures by use of chloramines which are created by combining chlorine and ammonia.
