Earth day events around the ArkLaTex

Local schools to take part in a lesson about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling as well as cracking down on litter.

Platt Elementary

Earth Day

8:30 a.m.

It is Earth Day and volunteers with Keep Bossier Beautiful will lead students in a lesson about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling as well as cracking down on litter. Afterward, they will plant a tree to further beautify the campus. 

 

Princeton Elementary

Earth Day

9:30 a.m.

After the Earth Day presentation at Platt, volunteers from Keep Bossier Beautiful will go to Princeton Elementary to lead students in the same lesson about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling, then plant a tree on Princeton's campus.

 

Bellaire Elementary

Earth Day

9:30 a.m.

Keep Bossier Beautiful volunteers will also be leading students at Bellaire Elementary in lessons on Earth Day, as well as the Bag It First anti-litter campaign, then plant a tree.

 

Greenacres Middle School

Earth Day

11:30 a.m.

Greenacres Middle School will also be celebrating Earth Day by planting a tree on campus to help the environment. Other activities are planned throughout the day as well. The science department also sold Earth Day t-shirts, so many students will be wearing those.
