Food Bank of NWLA gears up for Empty Bowls 2014

You can help fight hunger by participating in the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana's Empty Bowls fundraiser.
You can help fight hunger by participating in the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana's Empty Bowls fundraiser.

The event will be held between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. June 5 at the Eldorado Casino and Hotel.

You will enjoy a modest dinner featuring soups, bread, dessert and a beverage.

Hand painted ceramic bowls as well as donated goods and services are auctioned off in a silent auction. At the end of the event, guests choose a ceramic bowl crafted by artists and community participants to keep. These bowls served as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community that do not get filled.

This will be the 9th annual Empty Bowls event benefiting the Food Bank's programs while raising awareness about the issue of hunger in our state and local communities. The Food Bank will be honoring one of our outstanding partner agencies, Bernstein Development, Inc. for all that they do to help us fight hunger in northwest Louisiana. We will also announce the winner of this year's ultimate raffle prize: a free one year lease on a new Toyota Tundra Crew Max.

Tickets for the event are $40 each and ultimate Raffle Prize tickets are $20 each. Both can be purchased online on our website: www.foodbanknla.org.
