Giant puppets invade Shreveport streets Saturday

The UNSCENE! Puppet Parade events start at 5:30 p.m., event is free.
The UNSCENE! Puppet Parade will roll through the streets of Shreveport Saturday, July 12th. The parade had to be rescheduled to the date because of rain. Events are free and start at 5:30 p.m. near the Central Artstation.

This year's puppets are the creation of Emmy award winning artist, Wayne White, who was invited by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council to take part. White and his 5 person team have taken 1 month to create the puppets, some of which are 20 feet tall.

The puppets will celebrate the cultural and musical history of Shreveport, including the Caddo Indians, Elvis and Hank Williams.

In addition to the parade there will be make-a-mask events for children, food trucks and music.
