Did you know, your child may be getting too much of a good thing at the breakfast table?

A new study released suggests many fortified breakfast cereals and snack bars are providing harmful levels of Vitamin A, Niacin, and Zinc.

Released by the Environmental Working Group, they looked at more than 1,550 breakfast and cereals, and 1,000 snack bars.

According to the report, 141 of them were over-fortified.

According to the group, nearly half of American children, 8-years-old and younger, are consuming harmful levels of these nutrients.

For more information, and what cereals were studied, Dr. Susan Kemp, with Christus Health joined NBC 6 News Wednesday morning.
