It's Long, It's Orange, and It Does Not Belong in Her Yard...

Nearly a year of looking at a cord running across her yard with no idea why it's there...

Vader Winston lives in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood off South Lakeshore Drive, but her yard has been a home for an unwelcome guest since last May.
A long, thick, orange cord never received an invite in the twenty years Winston has lived there.

We traced the origin. It starts under her neighbor's fence and runs all down her yard, eventually connecting to a box with an upside down Comcast sticker.
Winston has never been a Comcast subscriber.

"I've called them. I went by the location. They came by and wanted to bury it, but I said no because it's my property and I might want to plant flowers. I called again and the girl said they'd fix it in two weeks...and that was in January," Winston said.

We called Comcast today. It is NOT clear who actually owns that line, but Comcast will be coming out to inspect.

"But you can never say for certain who that line belongs to until it's looked at. Things have been improving with Comcast since our negotiations with the city. However, an inspection team is on their way," councilman Sam Jenkins said.

But as for Winston, she just wants one thing...

"Whoever owns it is utilizing my property without my permission. I really need it moved. It's an eyesore and they can't cut grass. I want it gone," Winston said.
