Award winning journalist Jade Cunningham first joined NBC 6 in December 2012. She's currently a reporter and weekend anchor for KTAL and KMSS.
Jade is originally from San Diego, California, but decided to venture to the Rockies for college. She graduated with a Minor in French and a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast News from the University of Colorado, Boulder. During her time there, she was involved in the local news scene where she was a reporter/anchor for the University's only televised newscast "NewsTeam." Jade also devoted her time training at a station down in Denver.
She began her career in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she did a bit of everything. She started as a production assistant, but soon began working in front of the camera as a weather forecaster, reporter and weekend anchor. After two years of dedicated work, she was asked to anchor/produce the station's weekday morning show. One of her proudest achievements was being given the Wyoming Association of Broadcaster's (WAB) 1st Place Award for Best Breaking News Reporter.
In December of 2012, Jade joined KTAL as Texarkana's Chief Bureau Reporter. She covered a variety of stories, including the Shannon Richardson Ricin Investigation. A year later, Jade came to Shreveport as the weekday morning reporter, where she created "Gold Medal Givers," a weekly segment that honors local volunteers.
When not working, she enjoys a variety of activities. Some of her favorite things to do include outdoor adventures (camping, hiking, etc.), cheering on the Denver Broncos and San Diego Padres, traveling, and trying new things!
