Long-time Shreveporter and communications professional Kacee Hargrave Kirschvink announced Thursday that she is entering the race for Caddo Parish School Board's District 11 seat, representing the southwestern portion of Caddo Parish.

Kirschvink said, "As a parent of two Caddo students and the wife of a Caddo teacher, I see first-hand the opportunities and challenges facing our schools each and every day,Rather than sit back and passively voice concern about the issues, I've made the choice to roll up my sleeves and become a part of the solution."

Kirschvink plans to utilize her business acumen and vast communications experience to ensure that the school district delivers the best education possible for the families it serves.

Kirschvink said, "We must not lose sight of what's important. The focus of the school board should not be political. It should be on the classroom. I will always make it my duty to focus on what is in the best interest of our students and teachers."
