Donald Sterling is heard in a recording bashing his then girlfriend about photos she posted to Instagram with African-Americans.

The racist remarks earned him a lifetime ban, a $2.5 million fine and eventual loss of the team. Tuesday players from the Shreveport - Bossier Mavericks weigh in on the controversy.

Hollis Giles says, “You can't discriminate against one color or race, they won't stand for it. They're not going to stand for it. Somebody had to be the example, I'm sorry it had to be him, but they're letting it be known it won't be tolerated and they made the right decision in my mind."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver also pledged to take steps to force sterling to sell the Clippers, a move that would require the approval of three-quarters of the league's owners.
