A volunteer from the Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross will be headed to Alabama to help with recovery efforts there stemming from last weeks severe weather, flooding and tornadoes.
Jean Lanier is an experienced disaster volunteer. She has served with numerous local operations including response to the tornado near Plain Dealing last Monday, and she has deployed with several large disasters including the tornadoes in Hattiesburg, MS and Moore, OK as well as to the response for Hurricane Sandy. In Alabama, Lanier is slated to serve as a client casework supervisor.
Additional Red Cross volunteers may be sent to other areas affected by this storm system as needed.
