After serving almost 40 years in the LSU system and resigning from University Health last week, Joe Miciotto will be returning to the campus of LSU Health Science Center medical school.

Miciotto will assume the position of executive director for Campus Operations and will oversee matters related to the more than 1 million square feet of buildings and facilities, campus operation construction, as well as support LSUHSC’s strategic endeavors, according to John Marymont, interim dean at the med school.

Miciotto, who joined the system in 1975, was named hospital administrator at LSU Medical Center in 2001 and was in that capacity when the Medical Center transitioned to the now privately-managed University Health Hospital.

“Joe’s knowledge of the campus, administrative background and solid relationships with leadership, faculty and staff will further enhance a strong LSUHSC team,” Marymont said.
