Major accident in South Caddo claims at least one life

A Caddo Parish teenager has died and her younger siblings are in the hospital after a two-vehicle accident

A Caddo Parish teenager has died and her younger brother and sister are in the hospital after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 1 and Leonard Road, according to Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies.

Rebekah Ann Rogers, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, and her two passengers, Ethan Rogers 15, and Isbella Rogers, 14, were transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to deputies, Rebecca was driving a Toyota Highlander SUV east bound on Leonard Road when she pulled out on Highway 1 in front of two vehicles. One of the vehicles, a Toyota Tundra, hit the SUV. The driver of the Tundra was taken to Willis-Knighton Pierremont with non-life threatening injuries.

"We believe high speeds to be involved in the wreck. We'll also be investigating stuff like restraint use and mandatory toxicology tests because there was a death," said Lt. Michael Gray with the CPSO Traffic Safety Unit.
