Man sentenced learns punishment for receiving child pornography

A Shreveport man has been sentenced to 87 months in prison and a lifetime of supervised release for receiving child pornography on his home computer.

Kelvin McCallister, 45, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge S. Maurice Hicks Jr. for one count of receiving child pornography.

According to evidence presented at the April 14 guilty plea, law enforcement detected a computer accessing child pornography online.

The signal was traced to a computer in Shreveport.  McCallister's home was searched on May 23, 2013 and various types of child pornography were found on a computer.
