Mayoral Election 2014 -- More Likely Candidates...

The next Shreveport leader...

NBC 6 is your local election headquarters. We're focusing our attention to two more likely candidates running in the 2014 mayoral election in November for the city of Shreveport.

Louisiana state rep. Roy Burrell plans to toss his hat into the ring. With more than 20 years of public service, he says it's important for Shreveport to find its niche especially with developing the regional economy.

Another likely is the Evangelist Melvin Slack. He's an Independent and the only non-Democrat we've heard from this far. As the leader of Nation-wide Prison, Street, and Nursing-home Ministries, his main focus is helping the futures of convicted felons.
