Natchitoches Central celebrates 5A state championship
LAKE CHARLES, LA - Shortly after winning the class 5A Louisiana state basketball championship, Natchitoches Central head coach Micah Coleman met with the media and his first words were:

"It still doesn't seem real to me and if this isn't real, don't anybody in the room tell me this isn't real. I don't wanna know if this is not real, I'm not waking up."

The Natchitoches Central boys picked apart defending state champion Scotlandville 60-53 on the way to the program's first-ever state championship.

NCHS sophomore Cameron Lard made his presence felt early and often, scoring 24 points, adding six blocked shots, and collecting 10 rebounds. Lard was helped out by teammate Austin Guy's 10 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Scotlandville's LaMarcus Lee contributed a tem high 19 points for the Hornets, who finish the season with a 28-3 record.

The Chiefs lose only three seniors of this year's state championship team that finished the season with a 33-2 record.
