RUSTON, La. (July 29, 2014) – Louisiana Tech announced Tuesday that the Bulldogs football team will wear a new alternate helmet design for the program’s Oct. 4 game against UTEP featuring the school’s Bulldog logo on their traditional red helmet.
The Oct. 4 contest against UTEP will also be the school’s annual Community Trust Bank RED OUT game with the team wearing their red jerseys at home.
This will mark the first time Louisiana Tech will wear a Bulldog logo on its helmet. The team has worn the traditional State-and-T logo on its helmets since former coach Maxie Lambright designed the logo and had it placed on the helmet beginning in 1968.
The team will once again wear the Stars and Stripes State-and-T logo in its game at North Texas on Sept. 11 in front of a national television audience on CBS Sports Network. For all other games, LA Tech is scheduled to wear its regular State-and-T logo on its helmet.
The Bulldogs open the season on Aug. 30 when LA Tech will play at Oklahoma.
