NWS confirms EF-2 tornado ripped through Bossier Parish

The National Weather Service damage survey shows the twister that touched down near Plain Dealing was an EF-2 which packed 115 mile per hour winds.

Shortly after 3 a.m. Monday the tornado slammed into the Hosston area.

NWS officials say the storm was five miles in length and 550 yards in width.

The tornado caused damage to more than a dozen homes on Buckshot Rd., Rat Terrier Lane and Hwy 537 but there were no injuries.
