When NBC 6 News asked Lee what he hopes the children would take away from Tuesday's program he answered with one word-- education.

Lee believes there aren't enough organizations out there to help underprivileged children. More than 500 people filled the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Camino Real's annual steak and burger dinner. The money raised will go towards the group's summer program.

Event chair Peggy Braxton says the group was forced to turn away 75 children from last year's summer camp.

"Because 75 kids loose on the streets nowhere to go nothing to do it's not what we want. It's so important for that reason is to give them a positive place a safe place to be this summer."

Braxton is hoping they raised enough money, so they don't have to turn away any kids this summer.

Lee went on to say people have to be less selfish and people need to reach out more.
