When a water line broke this morning in the area of Central Park Elementary School, 900 Central Park Drive, causing city officials to issue a Boil Advisory for the Central Park area, Bossier Parish School administration immediately swung into gear.

A truck with non-potable water was dispatched to the school for utility use such as using sinks, lavatories and flushing toilets, and there is enough bottled water to take care of the children’s drinking water needs until the end of the day, according to D.C. Machen, superintendent of Bossier schools, who went to the school when he learned of the situation.

Machen told NBC 6 News it was decided not to send the children home, as the situation was temporary and should be resolved within a few hours.

The break occurred this morning in a service line near the intersection of Central Park Drive and Princeton Avenue which resulted in a loss of water pressure in the area.
