On Sunday morning, August 17, 2014 at approximately 11:08 a.m. the Natchitoches Police Department received several calls from citizens reporting that a plane had just crashed in a field behind some houses in the Pan Am subdivision in south Natchitoches.
Emergency personal were dispatched to the scene where they discovered a blue and white Cessna sky hawk plane with heavy damage had indeed crashed.
When officers first arrived on the scene they located two individuals inside of the plane. The first subject was unresponsive while the second was still conscious and was transported to Natchitoches Regional Hospital by Ambulance.
Pronounced dead at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office was Thaddeus T. Longlois w/m age 83 of Natchitoches La.
Transported to the Hospital was Jack P. McCain JR, W/M age 80 of Natchitoches La. Mr. McCain was airlifted to University Health in Shreveport with serious injuries.
At this time it is undetermined who was piloting the aircraft due to the severity of the injuries sustained by the occupants and law enforcement not being able to speak with Mr. McCain. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
