The Goodwill of North Louisiana is raffling off the new car to raise money for Goodwill’s Youth Programs; which provides life skills, mentoring, education services and job placement services for at-risk and disadvantaged youth in our area.

Raffle tickets go on sale beginning September 1st at Holmes European Motors on Bert Kouns in Shreveport.

You can also buy tickets at any Goodwill store in north Louisiana or by going to www.goodwillnla.org.

The winner will be announced Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Holmes European Motors.

An early bird prize will be given, which is a $1,000 shopping spree at Lee Michaels. That drawing is Saturday, October 6, 2014, at 12 p.m., at Lee Michaels, 6605 Youree Drive in Shreveport.

You can also win a casino weekend getaway, a gift certificate to Cosmetic Spa and a Green Egg smoker. Winners don't have to be present to win any of the prizes.

Every year, Goodwill’s Youth Programs help 1200 youth get jobs, transition out of foster care and become productive citizens after being in detention centers.

"By serving our youth, what we do is we're able to ensure that they become healthy productive adults and that they have a job, that they have an education, and that they're able to contribute to the community," says David Tinkis, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana.

"These are children that are at risk, that are disadvantaged, that have barriers and obstacles…if we don't help them, they're going to be the ones that potentially will be incarcerated, will be people that stay on assistance throughout their lives, and we're trying to prevent that and give them an opportunity to succeed."
