You may want to avoid some areas as you make your way around Shreveport this weekend.

Starting at 6 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23 the east bound lane of Interstate-20 will be closed over the Red River Bridge.  Repairs are expected to wrap up by 5:30 p.m.

Also on Sunday between 6 a.m. and 5: 30 p.m. the south bound lane on-ramp from North Market and the north bound lane on-ramp from Youree Dr. to the east bound lane of I-20 will be closed.

DOTD officials say the lane closure will allow vehicles 12 feet wide or smaller to pass through the construction zone.  Larger vehicles must detour using LA 1/US 71, US 80, LA 3 and I-20.

Meanwhile, starting Wednesday, Feb. 26 the west bound lane of traffic on the I-20 Bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad near Greenwood will be restricted to 1 lane. The right outside lane will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for bridge deck repairs.

This lane closure will allow vehicles 12 feet wide or smaller to pass through the construction zone.  Larger vehicles must detour using Pines Rd. to west bound US 79 and US 80 to I-20 west bound.
