If you're looking for a creative and inexpensive way to enjoy your weekend, then head on down to Sci-Port.

The Festival of Innovation will take place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Sci-Port.

This is an opportunity for you to experience the creative work of Makers, and learn about their love for innovation and creativity, as well as an educational spirit to inspire and encourage new Makers. Hands-on programming will also take place throughout the day.

Exhibits include "Bigfoot" and "Typhoon",  robotics from Louisiana Tech, music played on hand saws by artist Charles Niswonger, wire sculptures created by Charles Arnold, how to make your own stereo system with Andrew Davis and many more.

Sci-Port's Special Programs Coordinator Michele McKee said, "We are excited about the Festival of Innovation, because we think it's important to inspire our visitors to be creating and making and recreating and remaking.  Plus, we're excited to offer inventors and innovators another opportunity in the area to showcase their work."

Admission is free for those 18 years old or younger and participation in the program is free for all guests of the Center.
