Shreveport man arrested on drug charges near school

A man is behind bars after drugs are allegedly found inside his home across the street from Claiborne Elementary.

Renaldo Smith, 31, was taken into custody Tuesday at a house in the 3800 block of Conway St.

The Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant and discovered 150 grams of marijuana and two semi-auto pistols, one of which was reported stolen from Bossier City.

Smith was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm with CDS, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.

The investigation continues and more charges are expected to be filed.
