Shreveport Police to hold safety checkpoint

Shreveport Police are beefing up their patrols to make sure you stay safe on area roadways.
Shreveport Police are beefing up their patrols to make sure you stay safe on area roadways.

SPD will conduct a safety checkpoint from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 until 3 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 east Shreveport.

The checkpoint is part of the national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.

Officers will be checking for impaired drivers along with any other violations that could potentially compromise the safety of others.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
