Three women are behind bars after making off with a Snapper 21-horsepower zero turn 42-inch cut lawn mower valued at $1800, according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr.
Ashlee Renee Edwards, Erica Rene Holden and Brittany Shonte Carter became guests of Natchitoches Parish taxpayers after detectives investigating the theft obtained information the lawnmower had been pawned in the Natchitoches area.
Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, NPSO patrol deputies responded to a reported theft in the 700 block of Fish Hatchery Road near Natchitoches.
The caretaker of the property reported the lawn mower had been stolen from under the carport of the residence. Deputies processed the crime scene, completed initial reporttts and forwarded the information to the NPSO criminal investigations division. Detectives learned the three allegedly drove to the residence in broad daylight and drove the lawnmower into the rear of a pickup truck.
As the investigation progressed, the lawnmower was found and positively identified by the caretaker. The suspects were identified and criminal warrants for their arrest were obtained.
*Ashley Renee Edwards, 27 of the 100 block of Eddie Edwards Road, Robeline, La., booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on June 30th, charged with 1-count of Felony Theft and 1-count of Probation Violation.
*Erica Rene Holden, 27 of the 200 block of Melissa Place, Natchitoches, La., booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on June 27th, charged with 1-count of Felony Theft.
*Brittany Shontay Carter, 25 of the 100 block of Independence Street, Natchitoches, La., booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on June 27th, charged with 1-count of Felony Theft.
