SPAR set to open spraygrounds

The summertime is approaching and places to cool down is ready!
Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation’s (SPAR) seven spraygrounds will open to the public on Thursday, May 1, 2014.  SPAR’s spraygrounds are located at the following community centers:  Airport Park, David Raines, Hattie Perry, Lakeside and Querbes.  There are also spraygrounds at A.C. Steere Park and Riverview Park.
The spray parks have become very popular neighborhood amenities, offering respites from the sweltering summer heat.  The cool spray of water lowers the body temperature and increases the enjoyment of a beautiful summer day.  Use of the spraygrounds is free of charge.
The spraygrounds are open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.  Riverview Park’s sprayground operates seven days a week from 7:00 AM to 1:00 AM and has a wind sensor that will shut down the fountains if the wind gets too high.  Grab your bathing suit and cool off on a hot summer day with SPAR!  Water shoes are recommended.
