USTON, La. – Kenneth Smith had 17 points and 10 assists as he led the Bulldogs to a 90-75 victory over North Texas on Saturday night in front of 5,123 fans in the Thomas Assembly Center.
LA Tech led by one at the half, but a 14-2 run early in the second half put the Bulldogs ahead for good and propelled the team to victory over the Mean Green. Louisiana Tech was powered by the three-point ball tonight as the Bulldogs shot 10-23 from beyond the arc. Kenyon McNeail and Smith combined to go 8-11 from the three point line.
McNeail led all scorers with 18 points, while adding two assists. Joining Smith and McNeail with double-digit scoring were three other Bulldogs, as Alex Hamilton scored 14 points, Michale Kyser had 13 points and Chris Anderson added 12 points in the victory.
North Texas was led by Jordan Williams, who scored 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Alzee Williams scored 11 points and Vertrail Vaughns scored 10 points to lead the North Texas scoring.
LA Tech’s next action comes next Saturday, Feb. 15 when the Bulldogs take on Rice at home in a 7 p.m. contest in the Thomas Assembly Center.
