The Cost of a Caddo Election

While 6% goes out to vote and speaks for the entire population...

Saturday's election and last October's have more in common than just low voter turnout and a "no" for a tax increase.

According to the Louisiana Secretary of State, roughly 6% of the voting population made their way to the polls.

No matter how many people come, even zero, it gets costly.

The State's office says $1,200 is spent at each of the 155 precincts, totally at least $186,000.

Out of 165,755 registered voters, only 9,234 participated.
