Thousands have a muddy good time at new ATV park

Muddy Bottoms ATV and Recreation Park opens

Muddy Bottoms ATV and Recreation Park is open for business. It opened it doors early on Wednesday, after people were lined up to enter beginning Monday.

"We've got several thousand in the gate, and we hope to pass through several more," said Jeff Drost, the Park Manager.

The park is located in the tiny town of Sarepta, LA. The 5,000 acre park features several lakes and miles of mud trails.

"We got from the most extreme mud that anybody can handle all the way to dry trails that your average rider would enjoy."

The park also has a pro shop, a bath house, vendors, and paved roads. There's an 11 acre mud pit.

"This mud pit is pretty tough. You got to be an experienced four wheel rider to ride here," said Scott Bolton, from Haskell, Arkansas.

The park is open for events only in 2014. It will be open 24 hours a day until the end of Memorial Day. It will open again July 3 to July 6 for the Independence Day weekend. It costs $55 per person to enter when signing up online, and $60 per person at the gate. There's also separate fees for bringing an RV.

On Saturday, there's a Miss Muddy Bottoms contest from 5:30 p.m. to 7p.m., Crank it Up contest at 1 p.m. and two concerts featuring Kevin Fowler and Justin Moore at 8 p.m.
