Texarkana, Texas Police today deployed two hydrokinetic bean bag rounds, after a suspect failed to respond to repeated commands and pepper spray.

Just after noon today, TTPD officers responded to a call in reference to a man with a gun in the  2700 block of New Boston Road.

At the scene, officers found the suspect sitting on a bench outside.  The officers repeatedly ordered the suspect to remove his hands from his pockets, but he did not comply.

In  yet another attempt to gain compliance, officers utilized pepper spray, but still, the suspect refused to follow commands.  Instead, the suspect quickly stood up, and started to pull something out of his right pocket.

It was at this point officers deployed the two hydrokinetic bean bag rounds, striking the suspect. Finally, after the second impact, the suspect complied with officers’ commands.

He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
