Weight Watchers shares healthy cookout sides

Potato salad- 5 points


1 1/2 pound red potatoes
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbs red wine vinegar
Ground parsley
3 slices uncooked turkey bacon
1/4 cup light mayo
1 chopped onion

Boil potatoes about 20-30 minutes. Drain and cut each potato in 8 pieces.

Cook turkey bacon. Chop roughly.

Combine pepper, mayo, vinegar and parsley and onion. Toss potatoes in mixture.

1 cup serving = 5 points



Slow cooker BBQ beans

3 cans white beans
3 slices turkey bacon
1/2 cup reduced sugar ketchup
1 chopped onion
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbs red wine vinegar
1 tbs brown sugar
1 cup water

Cook turkey bacon. Place water and beans in slow cooker. Combine all other ingredients and put in top. Cook on low 4 hours or high 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally.


Diet coke cupcake

1 cake mix
1 can diet soda

Combine cake mix and 1 can diet soda. Bake as directed on box.

For best results use a dark soda with a dark cake mix and a clear soda with a lighter cake mix. For example, diet sprite and yellow cake, diet coke and devils food.

Top with fat free cool whip!
