Woman behind bars after throwing her baby out car window

NBC 6 News sister station, KTVE in Monroe reports a Winnsboro woman is facing an attempted second degree murder charge after her 20 month old child was thrown from a moving car.

NBC 6 News sister station, KTVE in Monroe reports a Winnsboro woman is facing an attempted second degree murder charge after her 20 month old child was thrown from a moving car.

Sheriff Kevin Cobb of Franklin Parish says he believes Lasasha Allen, 23, may have injured her child as an attempt to get attention from the baby's father.

Allen is said to have continuously changed her story about how the baby was injured. Cobb says it was revealed that Allen had her baby and her 7-year-old son in the car. She is said to have been speeding on highway 865. When she came to a curve in the road, Cobb say Allen opened the door of the car and the baby was slung out.

Cobb say Allen discovered the child was seriously injured but she did not take the child to the hospital for sometime. Cobb says the baby was eventually airlifted to University Hospital in Shreveport, where it remains in serious condition, but the child is expected to be ok.

Allen was arrested at the hospital in Winnsboro. Her five children have been taken into the care of child services. ..by
