Shreveport, LA - Former US Open Golf Champion David Toms officially opened his golf academy in his hometown.
The Shreveport native constructed a $6 million, 60-acre golfing mecca called the David Toms Academy 265.
"It's very good now that we're open," Toms said. "People are makin' divits and makin' putts and having a good time."
Toms' facility features a 9-hole par three course, a 20-acre driving range, and multiple putting and chipping greens.
"The unique aspects of it are all the different short-game areas that we have. We're all about practicing here at 265 and getting better."
The course is laid with four different types of grass. Construction began in June of 2012.
