Members of a Lake Charles church are still in shock, after seeing their pastor gunned down during a service Friday night.

The suspect, who was a deacon at the church, has turned himself in to police.

Police say 53-year-old Woodrow Karey walked into the church and shot Pastor Ronald Harris, Sr. while he was preaching.

They say Karey fled on foot but later called the sheriff's office and surrendered. He was booked on a charge of second degree murder.

Investigators say about 65 people were inside the church when the pastor was shot, including his wife.
