East Texas man faces more charges in fatal crash

Charges are mounting against a Queen City man in connection with a deadly accident in Texarkana.

Chad Caldwell, 34, has now been charged with a second count of intoxication manslaughter and also one count of intoxication assault.

Early Sunday morning Caldwell allegedly ran a red light and struck another vehicle at the intersection of W. 14th and N. State Line.

Tameka Pavon, 38, of Texarkana, Texas was killed in the crash.  Jacarlos Hawkins, 34, a passenger in Pavon's vehicle was transported to a local hospital but died later that afternoon from his injuries.

A second passenger in Pavon's vehicle, Genaro Comacho, is listed in critical condition at an out of state hospital. 

Investigators say alcohol played a role in the accident.

Caldwell has been booked into the Bi-State Justice Center.  No bond has been set.
