Family of hit-and-run driver speaks out

The family of William Fontenot speaks out. He's accused of killing a woman in a hit-and-run accident.

The fatal hit and run accident on Dawson Road has left the  neighborhood in shock.

Kimberly Hunt Bickham, 37, was run over around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 13, while sitting on the side of the road drinking a beer. William Fontenot, 47, of Dawson Road, has
been arrested in connection with the accident. He’s charged with felony hit and run, and driving under suspension.  

His brother-in-law said the Fontenots are having a tough time as well.

“We know he made a mistake. His family is devastated about this as well. I’m sorry for everything that’s happened.”

Bickham was the mother of two children.

The funeral for Kimberly Bickham is Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel.


Visitation is set for Wednesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.

Deputies are waiting for toxicology results to see if Fontenot was under the influence of drugs or alcohol when the accident happened. His brother-in-law said he’s unsure what the results will be. Fontenot is at the
Caddo Correctional Center with a bond set at $600,000.
