Next month expect to see Shreveport firefighters sporting their pink shirts.
October 1st starts the Shreveport Fire Associaition's second annual "Firefighters in Pink" breast cancer awareness campaign .
They hope everyone that sees fire fighters around the city wearing their pink shirts will remember the importance of early detection, and remind them to get their annual cancer screenings like mammograms.
"This personally speaks volumes to me, as well as so many of our membership. So many of us know someone or have loved someone dearly that has had to go through this journey," says Shreveport Fire Association President and fire captain Barbara Sellers.
You can show your support for the Shreveport Fire Department and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation.
"Firefighters in Pink" t-shirt cost $20 at the local Susan G. Komen office on Fairfield Ave. in Shreveport, or at New Balance on Line Ave
