As the ArkLaTex braces for the drop in temperatures, from local shelters to DOTD -- everyone is doing their part.
The Shreveport-Bossier Rescue mission is setting out 20 extra cots and preparing additional lunches and dinners despite being filled to capacity with 200 people already.
"I don't have to sleep in my car and it's wonderful they are here to help us," volunteer Jim Bruce said.
DOTD is also doing their best to be sure drivers on roadways, interstates, and highways are safe. Their 2 million pounds of salt are already being used to pre-treat the roads for the night ahead.
