Funeral arrangements have been made for a woman killed in a car wreck on LA 3132.

The funeral for Jocelyn "Joy" Wright, 37, is set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. at Elizabeth
Baptist Church on 301 Bellevue Road, in Benton.  Her visitation is set for Friday, Sept. 6 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Heavenly Gates Funeral Home, at 1339 Jewell Street in
Shreveport.

Jocelyn Wright, 37, died Aug. 30, after a car jumped across the highway median, rolled
over, and hit her. Wright was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on
scene.

Her friends and family describe Jocelyn as honest, confident, and someone who loved to cook and make everyone laugh. The Benton native is the mother of Christian,12, and
CJ, 17. She was a member of the Pretty Women Rock social club and a lifelong
member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

The driver of the car that hit Wright is Chelsea Farris, of Shreveport. She suffered minor
injuries. Police say she has been tested for drugs and alcohol and they are
waiting for the results. Shreveport Police say it’s unknown why Farris’ Chevy
Cobalt jumped across the median and they’ve launched a full investigation to
find out. They say charges are pending.
