The fifth annual North Louisiana Gay and Lesbian film festival kicks off Friday.
Moviegoers packed the Robinson Film Center this evening, excited to see the independent
films and documentaries.
The festival's films focus on everything from gay men being raised in the Southern Baptist
Church to religious bigotry in Uganda.
Shreveport native and actor Dudley Beene came to promote the first film he produced titled "First Period."
The film festival continues Saturday with "God loves Uganda" and "Valentine
Road" beginning at 1 p.m. There will also be a meet and greet reception
Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
The festival runs through next Thursday.
