A Hallsville Texas man died Thursday afternoon while trying to access his account at the Community Bank in Longview.

A Hallsville Texas man died Thursday afternoon while trying to access his account at the Community Bank in Longview.

Robert Thrasher, 69, was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Mike Smith.

Security camera video captured suggested Thrasher was in a vehicle in the ATM line and had opened the door to reach out to the ATM. The vehicle rolled forward and the door possibly struck a post or the ATM machine and then slammed back toward Thrasher.

The driver’s side door then struck Thrasher in the head and rendered him unconscious and immobile.

An ambulance and Harrison County deputies were dispatched to the scene, after a call to Harrison County 911. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a white male, later identified as Thrasher, was in a vehicle in the ATM line and appeared to be deceased.

The door to Thrasher’s truck was ajar and a registered nurse, who was in the line behind Thrasher, was attempting to locate a pulse.
