Healthy Eating: Snacks 101

Healthy snacks need to include protein and must "make a good first impression."
Shelly Redmond says snacks should always include some form of protein and suggests making them "cute" or "fun" to encourage kids to eat them!

Here are some ideas:
        1. Cut up fresh veggies and add hummus.
        2. Combine fruit and a cheese stick.
        3. Edamame
        4. Cut up apples, slather on some peanut butter and add dried fruit (craisins are yummy!)
        5. Ants on a Log: celery, peanut butter, dried fruit.
        6. Turkey sandwichs without the bread: Use toothpicks to spear turkey, cheese and tomato slices for a quick snack.
