Artists living in the Highland neighborhood are opening their homes to the public, hoping to gain more exposure. It’s a part of the Highland Open Studio Tour Sundays.
The free tours happen every first Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This month nine venues were included.
The Highland neighborhood has been named a neighborhood cultural district. It’s the only one in Shreveport-Bossier. The other cultural district in the area is downtown Shreveport. This means there’s no sales tax on original works of art.
The next tour is Dec. 1.
