The Cass County Sheriff's Department investigates the discovery of a human skull.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department investigates the discovery of a human skull.

It was found Monday by a deer hunter, near FM 2791.

The hunter came across the skull in a pasture around 1pm and immediately called 911.

Officers searched the area, and found the lower jaw and some clothes in a wooded area nearby.

Sheriff Larry Rowe says it appears the bones have been there for about 2-2.5 months.

Rowe adds they have a good idea on who the person is, but have still sent everything to Dallas for forensic identification.

The results should take about a week.
