Kings Highway serial burglar bolts from U-Hall, flees on foot, still on lam

A suspect is being sought by police following a series of business burglaries that occurred overnight along the Shreveport Barksdale/Kings Highway corridor.

A suspect is being sought by police following a series of business burglaries that occurred overnight along the Shreveport Barksdale/Kings Highway corridor.

Businesses broken into include Cindies Fine Clothing, City Gear Clothing Store, Tiger Vapes,  El Compadre Restaurant along with historic George’s Restaurant, which has been at its Kings Highway location for more than a half century.

Just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday Nov. 28, 2013, Shreveport Police officers responded to a business burglar in the 1100 block of Shreveport Barksdale Highway at Cindies Fine Clothing
store where they discovered that someone had entered the business through the
front glass doors.  Within a short time, patrolmen discovered that several other businesses in the area had also been burglarized in the same manner.

While investigating the Cindies’ burlary, the officers learned of similar damage and items stolen from City Gear Clothing Store and also Tiger Vapes, a lounge featuring electronic cigarettes, both located in the 1200 block of Shreveport Barksdale Highway, along with El Compadre and George’s Grill.

Shreveport Police patrol officers are now searching for a black male suspect that evaded police capture after fleeing from a large U-Haul truck during a traffic stop last night, which
officers suspects to have been connected to the business burglaries.  Shreveport Police detectives are still continuing the investigation and are working to secure all evidence that would lead to the suspect’s arrest.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact Caddo-Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org
