Kisatchie National Forest adds seven days to deer hunting season

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission has added seven days in designated areas within Kisatchie National Forest (KNF) for bucks-only still hunting with firearms

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission has added seven days in designated areas within Kisatchie National Forest (KNF) for bucks-only still hunting with firearms, during the 2013-14 deer season. The dates added are November 22nd – 28th2013;
this will provide additional bucks only hunting opportunities during the Thanksgiving
week holiday.

The hunting schedule is based on the month of November, typically with four weekends. However, this year November has five weekends, so KNF requested adding more hunting dates to this year’s season.Dates for deer hunting, with modern firearms, bucks only, still hunt only are in the following areas:

·
Calcasieu District – Evangeline and Vernon
Units (excluding Fort Polk/Vernon WMA)

·
Catahoula District (Grant and Rapides
parishes)

·       Kisatchie District (Natchitoches parish)·
Winn District (Winn, Grant & Natchitoches)

The online version of the 2013-14 Louisiana Hunting Regulations pamphlet has been updated to reflect these changes (see page 83). To view the entire pamphlet go to http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/hunting/regulations
