The Center for Disease Control announced the findings of their latest study measuring adult obesity rates from 2012. While Louisiana has spent years at number two, it's now made the jump to the number one spot as America's most unhealthy.
Thirty-five percent of all adults weigh in as obese. Doctors say it's because of culture, education, and income.
"Income is directly related. Eating healthy is expensive and the lower the income, the higher the obesity rates," Dr. Dennis Wissing said.
The number one change you can make is portion control and being sure you're burning more calories than you take in during the day.
