Saturday’s the big day for the Great Pumpkin Run for Research beginning at 8 a.m. at
Centenary College’s Gold Dome, 2911 Centenary Blvd.
The race will feature a traditional 5K run and health walk, a one-half mile kid’s run with a Halloween costume contest, healthy lifestyle exhibits, face painting and a pumpkin decorating contest for kids.
Community members can register at the race between 7:30 and 8:30 am. Prizes will be given for contests and teams with the largest numbers of registered runners.
All proceeds from the Pumpkin Run stay in Shreveport to support cancer research at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center at LSU Health Shreveport.
