Man wanted in Cass County captured in Columbia County

A vehicle and foot chase ends with a man in custody.
A Texas man wanted on 2 felony charges is in custody.

36-year-old Jason Mitchell was wanted out of Cass County, Texas for evading arrest and endangering a child.

Columbia County sheriff deputies knew Mitchell's whereabouts.

Wednesday morning at 6:45am, they went to a home, located on County Road 2 in Emerson, Arkansas.

But when Mitchell saw them, he got in his truck and fled.

Officers shot at the tires causing Mitchell to crash.
He then ran into the woods.

The David Wade Correctional Facility's Dog Team (from Louisiana) came to help.

Around 9am, Mitchell was captured.

While authorities were trying to find Mitchell, officers searched the house.

They found equipment to make methamphetamine and a hand grenade.

A woman was also inside the home, identified as Abby Mock.

The Arkansas State Police Bomb Squad came and removed the device.

They detonated it in a safe location.

Mitchell and Mock were both arrested and booked in the Columbia County Jail.

Mitchell now waits his first appearance and extradition in the Columbia County Jail.
